Story

Many people aren’t aware, but for over a year now thousands of refugees have been trapped in Serbia. Waiting to cross the border and reach a western European country. These people have left the life they know and everything they own, escaping war and poverty, hoping to find a safe place where they can rebuild their lives, however political restrictions and violence at the borders of the EU are making this trip to safety and freedom very difficult. With the borders now closed they are trapped in Serbia, living in horrific conditions and relying on volunteers and donations for basic supplies needed for survival.

No Name Kitchen is a small NGO formed by independent volunteers whom I have had the opportunity to work with. Since their formation in Belgrade last winter they started cooking a hot meal a day for the hundreds of refugees living in an abandoned warehouse. The warehouse has since been demolished and they have now moved their kitchen to the border town of Sid, next to the border with Croatia. They continue to serve hot food to a few hundreds of refugees living there, often providing their only source of nutrition.

Not only this - but No Name Kitchen are now looking to expand their activities by converting a warehouse to start a day centre.

So I'm using this opportunity to kindly ask for your support for this noble cause. All money will go directly to No Name Kitchen and will used to fund nutritional produce and warm meals for these forgotten refugees (people like you and me).

Thank you
