I've raised £1008 to provide education, healthcare and skills to disadvantaged women and communities so they can earn a living and have a brighter future.

Education, healthcare and skills to earn a livelihood is what holds back millions of people in the world. This has always touched a nerve with me - since my work is all about realising potential, it struck me that if people don't have access to the very basic needs of education and skill, then there's no way out of a lifetime of poverty, and in some cases extreme suffering.
Embracing the World addresses these needs through education at all levels - in India this can mean training women in remote villages, or offering university scholarships to orphans in Kenya. Self-help groups and micro-finance mean that women can start their own businesses, and often these are in traditional crafts that will not only provide employment but contribute to a healthier planet too - making reusable sanitary pads for example.
Founded by my spiritual guide Amma, I have supported Embracing the World through my time and direct donations for many years. This year I want to fundraise - partly to raise awareness of the amazing work the charity does, and partly because due to COVID Amma is not able to travel this year, and so we're missing out on the usual fundraising opportunities. As part of a Europe-wide initiative each country is walking 9k (10k in the UK!) to raise funds and allow these projects to continue. I'm walking 180km. Watch the video here .
My day to day work is in leadership and organisational development, and I never take for granted the privilege of having received an education and having the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of others. Please help me to make this possible for others too.
