Story
On 13th October Joe had a serious accident in Gdansk, falling a significant height. Joe is still in hospital in Gdansk, and whilst the care he received there undoubtedly saved his life he still has very significant injuries. The most recent and strong advice received from a specialist in the UK was that we need to repatriate Joe as soon as possible to get the care he needs here in the UK.
Due to the severity of Joe's injuries and the level of on board medical support he will need to safely get home, we have been advised that he will likely need to be transported by full air ambulance and then ambulance once in the UK. Quotes for his repatriation are in the region of £20000.
Fortunately Joe's healthcare out in Gdansk is likely to be covered by the EU but we still need to raise enough money to get Joe home and give him the best chance of recovery. We also know that at least in the short term Joe may need extra support at home, so extra funding above and beyond his repatriation costs would be greatly received.
