Story
Throughout 2018-2019 we are undertaking a series of challenges to help raise money to buy a Philips HeartStart® HS1 semi-automatic defibrillator for our school. Last year Ruth and Sarah started us off by running the Leeds 10k. Our next challenge is for a team of 20 staff members to complete the Yorkshire 3 Peaks!
When a heart stops, you're up against the clock. Without action, survival rates fall by 10% every minute, yet using a defibrillator within three minutes can improve a person's chance of survival by as much as 70%. Within the UK, however, there just aren't enough of them and there are currently no defibrillators close to our school.
By donating to this cause you will help the school and the community purchase this life-saving piece of equipment and it's a great opportunity for us to demonstrate our values #respect #perseverance #cooperation #responsibility.
Too many people aren't given a chance because there isn't a defibrillator nearby - so please donate and check by soon to find out about our next challenge!

5 years agoAnd... we've made it to our target!!!!!!! Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us. We know we still have sponsorship money outstanding but don't worry, we will put this to good use by purchasing a wall safe for our defibrillator to go in! We'll update with pictures as soon as it's hanging on the wall :) In the meantime, here's a nice pic of our three peak team enjoying a drink after their adventures.

5 years agoIt rained. it poured. It rained some more. The team were soaked to the skin. Gina poured water out of her boots. Josh went tumbling down a mountain. Lydia was nearly blown off the top of Pen-y-hent. Stan, the dog, had an emergency blow dry but... the team made it over one, two and three peaks on the most miserable Sunday in May. Huge congratulations and thanks to Julian and Callum for gritting their teeth and making it to the very end. And... we've made it to our target 100%!! Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us!

6 years agoIn Hospitality & Catering KS3 have been hard at work on a pizza project. Pupils began by experimenting with different topping combinations to create the perfect pizza. After tasting and reflecting on our creations we provided samples to staff and other pupils around schools and took over 50 orders for our pizzas. After a week break to mentally prepare for ShowTime pupils were ready and raring to go and raised over £130 for the school defibrillator.
