Story

Hi I am Joshua, 3 years ago at 23 yrs old I was involved in a car crash that left me fully blind. Fitness and sport is a monumental part of my everyday life and it is this, which has enabled me to overcome a facial reconstruction, brain injury and two broken legs. Since my accident, I have concentrated heavily on my health and fitness becoming a member of Team GB representing them in Goal ball as well as continuing with my previous sporting interests. Prior to my accident, I was highly involved in mixed martial arts specialising in Muay Thai and since I have developed and built upon my strength set adding Jujitsu. Jujitsu has quickly become my main sporting passion and I have entered into numerous assessments and testing, to allow me to become a leader. My goal is to give back to the disabled community and create an inclusive environment where they too can get involved and learn Jujitsu. I am currently in the process of setting up my own charity Inner Strength Sport, which will help fund a fully accessible, and disability inclusive jujitsu gym, where individuals can come and learn martial arts in a safe and fun environment. My first fundraiser is to complete a marathon of Tough Mudders, this is two Tough Mudder courses each being a half marathon, back to back on the same day. If this is a cause, you are interested in and believe in then please donate.
