Story
As a young and passionate conservationist I am aware of many issues throughout the world. I have become aware of communities in Ecuador that live below the poverty line to the extent of receiving poor education; lack of shelter and limited access to basic health & hygiene facilities such as toilets and fresh, clean running water. To combat these issues I will be engaging in charitable work as a volunteer. I have been accepted as part of the Camps International expedition in 2019.
During my time in Ecuador I will be:
*Constructing vital facilities for the community such as community centres, toilets and shelters to enhance their way of life.
* Building new classrooms, and shelters to develop education facilities to vastly improve children's education.
*Deforestation in the Amazon has been pinned as one of the leading contributors to global warming. To combat this my work will include planting saplings in an effort to replace and counteract the damage caused by mass deforestation in the rainforest
* I will be travelling to mountainous regions, to support and work with local communities, as 50% of the locals live under the poverty line. In these rural areas malnutrition is a major issue.
* I will be working on the coastline with the task to clean up beaches and oceanic debris that threatens the coastal ecosystem. I will also be working on ongoing environmental projects to protect marine life.
I believe that working with and for the underprivileged people in Ecuador will not only improve their lives but also mine. I will be able to empathise with them and witness their daily struggles and help to implement the improvements needed.
This project will undoubtedly change my entire outlook on life, whilst gaining new life skills that will stay with me forever.
If you donate to this cause you can make all of this possible, environmental issues will be addressed and ongoing and the impoverished people in Ecuador can live sustainable lives that we all take so very much for granted.
