Story

Since 2003 Windermere School, as one of their projects, supported by parents and friends, have funded the feeding of the young people who attend Thussanang disabled centre in South Africa; it was felt that funding full tummies would mean that these children would be able to learn more easily and it has definitely made a difference. A few years ago, however, it was felt by the Windermere team that there was more they could do for the Thussanang disabled centre which could offer a better life for these young people. In February 2018, the team made a stunning difference to the educational programme at the Thussanang disabled centre, this group had worked consistently from Sept 2017 through until the time they left, planning lessons, ordering resources and organising activities.

I wish to fundraise money allowing me to provide lessons towards these young children. I am a keen Mathematician and Physicist and believe that teaching young children the basics of maths will provide them skills that are known in any language. I would also love to present some physics experiments to the children, such as creating a circuit to light a small bulb or allowing them to witness the attraction of magnets and their magnetic fields. I also have the desire to follow on from the most recent project and provide plenty of lesson plans to Thussanang to allow the workers at Thussanang the chance to continue generating young, intelligent minds.

All the money raised will go towards purchasing resources to help teach the lessons in Thussanang that I wish to teach and of course feeding the empty tummies of the young children.
