Story

I have been one of the few lucky scouts to have been selected to attend the World Scout Jamboree in the USA in 2019. To be able to attend I need to raise the funds myself.

This is an amazing opportunity and a once in a lifetime experience. The Jamboree is where Scouts from around the world come together to create a global community, gaining new experiences, meeting new people, challenging yourself and overcoming fears. For more information on the Jamboree take a look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHLvQyw2Z5s

I have been a keen member of the Scouting Community since the age of just six when I started out at Beavers, moving through to Sea Cubs and now into the Sea Scouts. I aim to continue this journey through to explorers and then become a young leader and even have my own group one day. Attending the Jamboree would be an amazing experience for me to develop skills I can use within my journey in Scouting and into the adult world of work. I see this adventure giving me the opportunity to meet new people from across the world, share our experiences and be a good role model to the rest of my scout group, showing them if they try hard, they can accomplish lots of great things.

This is going to be a challenge, one which I look forward to completing. To help raise funds I will be organising many fundraising events throughout our local community- watch this space for what will happen next.

I do not want this just to be a trip but something I can experience and share with my local community on my return. Using my new skills and confidence to support others in need.

Thank you for your support.
