Story
Hi, my name is Josh, I’m 16 years old, and on 2nd May 2026 I’ll be taking on a 100-mile bike ride from Belper to Skegness to raise £5,000 towards a life-changing volunteering expedition to Botswana with Outlook Expeditions.
This expedition isn’t a holiday — it’s an opportunity to challenge myself, give back, and learn more about the world beyond my own.
During the expedition, I will be:
👧 Volunteering with children in a local village, supporting education and community projects
🦏 Volunteering at a rhino sanctuary, learning about conservation and wildlife protection
🏕️ Hiking and camping on the African plains, building resilience, teamwork and independence
🌊 Ending the journey at Victoria Falls, one of the world’s natural wonders.
This experience will push me physically and mentally, while allowing me to contribute positively to both people and wildlife.
The Challenge
To help fund this expedition, I’m committing to a major physical challenge:
🚴 A 100-mile bike ride from Belper to Skegness
📅 Taking place on 2nd May 2026
This will take months of training, determination and endurance — but it’s a challenge I’m fully committed to in order to make this opportunity possible.
Why I Need Your Support
The £5,000 target will go towards:
🙏 Expedition and programme costs
⛺️ Accommodation and food
👥 Community and conservation projects
🚲 Training, safety and supervision
🚅 Travel and logistics
Every donation — no matter the size — helps me move closer to this goal. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting me. I’ll be sharing updates on my training and my progress towards the Belper to Skegness ride along the way.
Thank you for helping me make this possible
