Story

Hi, my name is Sylvi and I encourage you to support me in raising funds for my friend Jo who lost her legs and fingers due to sepsis almost two years ago.

I have known Jo for nearly 30 years through working as flight attendants together.

In February 2024 Jo got admitted to A&E having woken up that morning not feeling very well. Having thought it was a bad cold she was diagnosed with double pneumonia and Strep A which resulted in septic shock.

She was put into a coma and we nearly lost her.

After many months of operations, hospital visits and rehab, Jo is now walking on prosthetic legs and is currently waiting for fingers!

Jo’s passion in life is running and she has completed many races, some of which have been to raise money for various charities including The Gurkha Welfare Trust, Oxfam and Marie Curie. Her goal is to treck to Annapurna base camp next year.

As much as the NHS has been amazing with getting Jo back on her feet, they cannot provide her with the luxury of running blades which will enable her to get back into running which provides her much joy.

Your contribution, no matter how small, will make a huge impact!
