Hello kind funders! I wonder if you could please help me to achieve my goal of gaining a Masters degree?

In 2016 I began studying a Masters course at the University of East London. I was really getting a lot out of the course when unfortunately my mum, who lives up in Liverpool, became ill with breast cancer. I decided to attend all of her treatments up in Liverpool, and as a result, rather than let my fellow students down in group work, and rather than miss a lot of classes, I stepped back from my studies and decided to re-start the course the following year. The Student Loans company said they would be able to fund me again if I provided evidence.

The following year I provided all the evidence I could, and my course leader was so helpful and understanding, but unfortunately because the Student Loans company had released funding to me, that makes it more complicated and I cannot now be given a loan for my studies. The course costs £8340 and I have applied for scholarshops but so far I haven’t been able to secure any funding.

The masters degree is in Acting, and in the long run I hope to become a Dramatherapist, helping people with mental health issues to be able to express themselves and to find health again. I also work as an actor but funds are so tight that without your wonderful help, I will not be able to study. I don’t have a bachelors degree and I was lucky to be offered this place, and to have it kept open for me is incredible! I would be beyond grateful for anything you can offer! Thank you! Jo x
