Story

JPIC 04 will be attempting to cycle row and run the total distance from the defense school of police and guarding to RAF Gibraltar, a distance of 1036 miles. We have decided to do this challenge in aid of The Elliot Project.

The Elliot Project was created with one goal in mind, to educate the wider community and provide them with the tools required to help those struggling in a mental health crisis. The Elliot project provides free Mental Health First Aid Courses for both military and non-military personal.

Our JPIC has chosen to raise funds for The Elliot Project after learning about it through an instructor on our course who is a co-founder and key fundraiser for the charity. The instructor told us about the cause and his own struggles with mental health and explained about the charity's beginnings being formed after Elliot Hennell who previously served with the instructor took his own life in July 2020, we felt incredibly moved by the story of the Elliots project and inspired by the instructor's efforts to raise money to help raise funds to educate and help people deal with mental health.
