Story

Firstly thank you for taking the time to read our story. This story is all about 'building memories'. We are an Ex-Forces family with two very young children and a dream. We are lucky enough to live in the most idilic location on the Herefordshire/Powys border, approximately 1 hour drive from the 2nd Severn Bridge and in sight of both the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains. We are lucky enough to have a wide range of outdoor activities on our doorstep including canoeing, climbing and caving.
I know personally that the disposable income of some forces family is very low and to have a few days away with the children is increasingly difficult. Therefore the chance to build those memories that are so important to family life is virtually impossible.
We are trying to build 'full log' cabins in a peaceful woodland location to allow families to spend quality time together and escape the day to day pressures. We have all witnessed the sacrifices and dangers our forces and emergency services have endured the last few years. Wouldn't it be nice to offer them a few days away with their families and say, 'there is no charge, this is to say thank you from ordinary people for what you have done'.
Without any support the plan will still go ahead but at a slower pace. We will eventually raise the necessary funds and ensure these people get a deserved break, so please don't worry if money is tight.
We have witnessed the power of social media of late when our nearest neighbour Mr John Ellis sadly passed away. John was a WW2 Bomber Command Engineer who won a Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC). With no immediate family, besides an elderly sister and potential numbers at his funeral in single figures, I took to social media. 350 people attended John's funeral with the Military and Emergency services attending in large numbers.
So in a few words that is our story. As we said earlier the plan is going ahead but may just take longer to build those memories without your support. Thank you again.
