Story

On the 26th August 2022 my brother was in a horrific motorbike accident and within the hour was transferred to QMC ICU and spent 11 days completely unresponsive with a GCS 3. He had sustained serious injurys including multiple open fractures, collapsed lungs, brachial plexus and a traumatic brain injury - diffuse axonal.

Over the last five months myself, my family and his girlfriend have had to watch him over come every hurdle we were told he may never reach, breathing unaided by machines or a tracheostomy, learning to drink, eat, speak and build the strength back up especially in his right arm and hand as due to his brachial plexus injury he has lost the use of his left arm completely making all of the above tasks so much harder as he learns to do them one handed.

This has and continues to be the hardest journey imaginable but is made easier by the fact he does it all with a smile on his face and digs deeper than i thought humanly possible to smash his next goal!

In four weeks times he will come home from his current NHS rehabilitation and become an outpatient where he will only receive once a week therapy. We have been told by TBI specialists that the most progress is made within the first year and we will do whatever we can in our power to get him back on his feet walking and living the life he deserves with as much independence as possible.

Any funds raised will go towards private rehabilitation and equipment to give him as much independence as possible.

He has fought the hardest and longest fight and now its our time to fight for the rehabilitation he deserves to be able to live the life he deserves.
