Story

My very dear daughter-in-law, Jude Marwa, is coming up to the 8 months mark of having undergone very intensive treatment in hospital for her rare form of TALL lymphoblastic lymphoma, that she was diagnosed with at the start of the year. She is now moving towards the maintenance part of her treatment programme. This is another lengthy process that will see Jude receiving treatment for the next three years, but by the end of October this year, this will hopefully all be administered at home, rather than through the lengthy hospital stays that she currently undergoes.

For the family, this is crucial, to have their mum back home - it has been tough on the family seeing her go through so much, away from them all, in a hospital over an hours drive from their house.

Jude has been advised it will take an extended period of time for her to recover, immediately impacting her capacity to go to work. The family home has been undergoing renovations to make the place habitable, ready for Jude's return, to get it to a clean and functional state that is safe for her to recover in. This has added unforeseen costs which many people from different communities have reached out to ask if they may help support, providing the next necessary care that Jude and her family need for this next tough phase of their journey.

At the moment, making it possible for Jude to recover fully from the challenges of the last year surrounded by her family, in her own home, would be the most useful and beneficial form of help that they could receive.

Jude has faced this journey with humour, strength, humility, acceptance and fight and we would love to see her now be able to add suitable and functional living conditions to that list. Her son is entering his GCSE year at school, to have a finished home he can concentrate on his studies in whilst recovering from the traumas of the last year would greatly help him. Jude's daughter, Maia, will continue her studies at Exeter and her husband, Emil, will return to work in addition to caring for Jude.

Jude's family and friends have helped them get through this ordeal and they are eternally grateful to them and would now like to share their justgiving appeal with people further afield who have shown an interest in helping them too. They thank you all for reaching out, people's kindness and interest in helping has been something they have been so moved by, throughout the whole journey, and it has been a blessing that they hold close to their hearts. THANK YOU.
