Story
CRADLE is a charity that works with the NHS to support women and their family before, during and after early pregnancy loss in it's many forms by providing Comfort Bags, Outpatient Packs and Comfort Packs to various NHS units, we also donate Comfort Packs to scan clinics, outpatient clinics, A&E and GP outpatient clinics where women may receive devastating news. Our hope is to raise awareness, offer support and break the silence that surrounds early pregnancy loss up to 24 weeks. 1 in 4 women suffer will experience pregnancy loss but many will not talk about it.
My personal journey began in 1990 whe I suffered the first of three devastating ectopic pregnancies, this one almost took my life. Back then the odds of a repeat were 1/1,000,000 now they are 1/80. I also suffered numerous miscarriages, today 1 in 4 pregnancies will end in miscarriage. When I suffered there was no support, it was a case of go home and get over it but at CRADLE we want to change this, we want the voices of all women to be heard and one way we can do this is to reach as many as possible through our networks with local NHS Trusts.
Two incredible people, Jason RIley and Peter Panacek, will be attempting to cycle from John O Groats to Lands End in June 2021 to raise funds for CRADLE and also to raise awareness of the battle that women face every day. They will be carrying supplies with them and camping during the journey which will start on 15th June and planning to arrive at Lands End on 23 June cycling in the region of 960 miles.
To follow this up Jason will also be taking part in the Serpentine Super 6 Swim (3 x 2 mile swims in one day) on Saturday 18 September 2021.
I am CRADLE Ambassador for UHNM NHS Trust, one of over 40 NHS Trusts supported by over 50 Ambassadors, all of whom have suffered some form of early pregnancy loss.
We would like to raise £2000 to expand our services to UHNM and are asking for your support in this endeavour. Please follow the page where we will update regularly on training, and when the team start their journey we will update on progress.

4 years agoOur guys are doing an amazing job. Yesterday was a rest day with time for essential maintenance to self and bikes and back to it this morning. Unfortunately Jason had a problem with his bike but the amazing team at Spokes Kidderminster saved the day. They are going to complete 100 miles today and look for a campsite and head off again tomorrow. This will leave less than 300 miles to complete and we are so proud of the work they are doing.

In 1990 I suffered the first of three ectopic pregnancies along with numerous miscarriages and as a result have no living children. I found CRADLE in 2019 and finally found support in my grief and now work closely with the charity within the UHNM NHS Trust in Stoke and Stafford.
