Story

Donald is a 12 week old Dalmatian puppy, Need your help.

He was born with a hole in his tiny heart, He wasn’t expected to survive, but he's trying very hard to prove everyone wrong.

I am trying my best to survive my first Christmas trying to eat so I grow and become strong enough so those lovely vets can repair my heart and enjoy many more Christmas’s with my family.

Please help to raise enough money (I don’t understand this money thing, are they like hugs and kisses) so as soon as I am strong enough they can make me better.

A wee bit more about me

Donald was born by emergency C section along with his 5 siblings but one didn’t wake up. It was the 20th of September as I was in hospital so Donna was looking after Candy (mum) when she had a green discharge. During the section our vet Carol noticed that there were two obviously smaller pups, both boys, and Donald was the small one that survived along with 3 larger boys and 1 large girl. At first we thought oh he is a small one but were sure that once he got to the weaning stage and extra feeds from mum that he’d be fine. It wasn’t until their first check up at 3 weeks that we really noticed just how petite and fragile he was with his legs being so thin and we always had to move him to keep him warm. From then on he just never grew that much and we likened him to a spotty chihuahua because even his snout had stopped growing giving him a chihuahua look. We then found that he was constantly cold so we would take turns cuddling him in and this is when my youngest daughter Natalie, decided his name would be Donald. The other pups thrived and Donald tried his hardest to do as his siblings were but he was tiring very quickly so again we would cuddle him in when the play started and latch him on to Candy whilst the others played. At microchipping time Donald was almost 730gms so we decided not to put him through the pain of that or vaccinations. He then took a terrible upset tummy which I personally thought was going to send him to the bridge but we all rallied round giving tiny amounts of food and medicine many times a day and I made him a coat from one of my socks to try and help him stay warm and it would help him settle better. We had to change his food to puppy páte and mousse and feed him up to eight times a day and he just reached a massive milestone of one kilo in weight on Wednesday evening, we were all in tears. Poop is firm and he loves to play and cuddle in on his own and his tail wags for everyone he sees, we just hope he is going to be our little miracle ❤️
