Story

On Saturday 18th May, I will be completing a 160ft Bungee in Cambridge to support and raise funds for Beetley Preschool.

Although I never would have imagined I'd ever throw myself from a crane, attached only by elastic from my ankles, I wanted to do something different that I was able to fund myself, so all the money raised could go to the preschool charity. I still have no idea how I got to the idea of bungee jump, especially as I have always disliked heights, but it is booked and too late to back out of now!!

The one thing I do know is how much the current and future children of the preschool need a new building. The current building is a tin mobile unit that is no longer fit for purpose. It has just one playroom to accommodate all the children, a store room that doubles as an adult toilet, a tiny kitchen and an even smaller office. The unit is over 15 years old and has passed its life-expectancy. It is difficult to maintain and to regulate heat so we are too cold in winter and too hot in summer. We’ve worked hard to create a stimulating outdoor area for our children, but the small space limits what we can provide.

Our dream is to be able to have an additional room so we can offer longer sessions, five days a week to younger children, and also to have a room where we can offer quiet space for children with special educational needs.

So, if you are able to donate anything, even just a pound, I and all at the preschool will be extremely grateful.
