I've raised £195 to support Skillshare Bulgaria, an amazing 7 year old community project. Make a donation to our sponsored walk from Palamartsa to Voditsa

Since 2008 when Julie Sharon first visited the village of Voditsa in north-east Bulgaria, she has slowly been creating an educational community project bringing together people of all ages and cultures to share knowledge and skills. She does this largely with her own funding or what is donated from family and friends.
The purpose of this fundraising is to raise money to support Julie in her projects. A group of her friends and family are going to walk from her village, Voditsa in northeast Bulgaria, to a neighbouring village, Palamartsa, through the woods on 18 July 2017 (a distance of approx 15km). If you would like to sponsor us, through this crowdfunding campaign, we would be most appreciative of your support for this wonderful creative work in Europe's poorest country, Bulgaria. If you would like to join us on our walk, please let us know.
Over the past 7 years, Julie's projects have taken different forms. Here's a little video showcasing her work https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqWfWXuJwqo.
Some examples of her projects:
providing summer arts and crafts activities as a means to teach English to local children;
mud-sculpting workshops;
women's handcraft /music / cooking workshops;
and a summer workshop of music / mud sculpting / arts & crafts / video and more for all ages
More information about these events on Skill Sharing in Bulgaria facebook page.
All these workshops have been offered for free and been made available through the dedication, cooperation and generosity of people who have provided their skills, knowledge and resources.
The skill-share workshops are very intimate in nature and restricted to a small number of participants.
The money raised will be used to:
buy craft supplies of various kinds
subsidize transport costs to bring local children to the events
buy musical instruments for the musical workshops, in particular a few more ukuleles and percussion instruments
Many thanks for your support.
