Weʼve raised £122 to Light up the largest tree in St George's Park so by night I it may bring a ray of hope in the darkness to any person feeling lost and sad

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Just after Christmas this year I was in a very dark place with my husband and our twin grandchildren were all in hospital at the same time, our little twin granddaughter ended up in Addenbrookes on life support, Each evening I would pass our local park on my way to the hospital, by day it is such a pretty park but by night it is so dark and dismal and looking into the darkness only enhanced my feelings That's when I thought how nice it would be to look into the park and see some light, So when my family were over the worse I approached the local council with my idea of lighting up a tree, I was shocked at the cost and had no false hope of getting any fundung, but still felt it worth doing, we all go throgh dark times, and sometimes just to see something of beauty make us feel much better inside, This is something we can all benifit from in the future by just giving a small amount now, This park is the stepping stone from our seafront to the town centre and making it look more approachable in an evening has got to be better, Our town has taken many knocks over the last few years, empty shops , many cuts effecting everything so please try to help me to do this to bring a little bit of light to the darkness, I have picked the most splendid tree in the park to wear this beautiful coat . Sometimes its easir to not want to get involved or leave it to others but by just giving a little we can do this together, thankyou to everyone who helps , I have been doing car boots and other things but I will be doing much more now my house move is complete, if anyone wants to help me with the Light up a Tree email me my grandchildren are my biggest supporters on this and are so excited.,I just think it will look amazing when it is done and will be something for everyone to benifit from.

I have got a little behind with things as life has got in the way but I now feel so positive and there is also a new meaning to the “Light up a tree” for me as so many people I know are having their own battles with life and yet they offer their help and support so I will be lighting up this tree for everyone who is struggling with life we can all do this together god bless each and every person, sometimes a light in the darkness is all we need to help us get through x

Nearly £900 has been raised so far as I have been doing carboots, painting pebbles and selling them at our deckchairs shed , people have kindly donated items which are been sold, I did have to pay the council £195 this week as plans have to be put in I was hoping this fee may have been wavered or reduced but sadly no . so it has now gone down to £705, but still going forward., x

Good Luck with raising the money, i'm sure it will look wonderful especially being in the park, -remembering all those poor souls who's names are on the memorials plus memories of our own.

When I started this it was because of the sadness due to illness to the ones closest to me which gave me thoughts to light up a tree, £900 raised but the people who have helped me do this have their own battles with life so now this project is taking on new meaning day by day
