    Story

During this time, a client of mine who is currently residing here has unfortunately succumbed to Covid 19 and has been confined to her room for a few weeks. We used to socialise twice a week before this time and enjoyed much fun and laughter.
The home is in lockdown and many residents may be feeling quite low in morale.
The staff are working tirelessly to assist and care for residents as best they can in extremely difficult circumstances.
I decided to try to find a local singer to sing a few songs out in the courtyard for the residents to listen to - from either their rooms, or if able and well enough, they may join at a distance outside if the weather is fine.
Melody Reed has wonderfully volunteered her time to make this happen.
It will be on Tuesday 2nd June.
However, as an added thought, it would be fabulous if anyone could spare a few bob to be able to purchase some treats - either a glass of wine, cake, or chocolates for residents and staff to enjoy during this anxious and upsetting time.
If you are able to help, Thank you so much. It would mean a world of difference and help to spread some smiles 🙂🙏

Hi everyone. Thank you to everyone who supported this page. The monies raised totalled a little over £823 after Just Giving took their cut. This has now been handed over to Ghyll Royd and have been split between the residents and staff. A new gazebo has been purchased with some of the funds and erected in the courtyard for the inclement weather so that residents may have shelter whilst enjoying the fresh air. Once again, thanks to all for your kindhearted donations. You helped make a difference xx 😘

...been put forward also - for instance perspex screens inside perhaps or an open sided construction/marquee and patio heaters to allow for visitations at a distance, moving forward. If anyone has any ideas of how they feel this huge amount could be put to good use, (obviously treats for staff and residents) , please feel free to contact me via this page or on 07449955212 and I can then forward suggestions to Ghyll Royd management. Once again a HUGE THANKYOU for your kind and generous support. You are amazing! Xx Julie.
