"Sura” the greenwing macaw, a beloved companion to Kareem (his owner) and Kasko (Sura's life-bonded partner, a harlequin macaw) was stolen in Richmond Park on Monday 20th June 2022.

The thief abandoned Sura a day later in the middle of the night and as a result Sura was taken from Kareem and Kasko in the most devastating way possible, being killed by a fox on account of being weak from hunger and unable to see or fly at night.

Many of you out there have pets, many of you have pets that truly are family in every way. Imagine if this happened to you. This crime has caused the same devastation to both parties as a child and husband being abducted and killed.

Sura and Kasko - the parrots of Richmond Park - have been adored by everyone across the community and now this park bares extremely painful memories.

This page has been requested by many of you who would like to make a donation to support Kareem and Kasko through this difficult time.

Donations received will ensure both Kareem and Kasko can have the healing time they need to adapt to a new life without Sura. They will go towards an aviary, toys and other forms of comfort for Kasko.
