It's February 2017,4 months ago I wouldn't even consider writing on this publicly.The time has come,however,to share something with you.Something that has kept me from living a normal life since October.
Namely,in October,my mom was taken seriously ill.In the beginning,it didn't seem all that serious, and,but when I got back to the UK from my holiday,all hell broke loose.She had to go to the hospital.
Once she got there,the diagnosis was that she needed to have her foot amputated because of diabetes.The leg was amputated up till the middle of the calf.After the recovery at the hospital,mum got back home.The stump's getting better all the time and soon the real prosthetics might be possible.I imagine this isn't as serious as cancer,but this is my mother and I need to do everything i can to make sure she can live a relatively normal life.My sister had to give up her existence and come to Poland to look after her,which I couldn't and can't perform myself.My sister's life in Belgium has ended,which unfortunately can't be said
about her bills,rent,and other financial affairs there.The costs of medication are far from low.In fact,they are enormous.The NFZ (National Health Fund) doesn't seem eager to help,and the healthcare benefit we get amounts to 200 PLN, which is not enough to cover even the daily cost of insuline.My mother gets her pesion and I work,but it's not enough to buy medicine,pay the bills,and make it to the end of the month.And,on top of that all,there's the artificial limb matter,which is only partially sponsored.
Maybe,this charity action is really a chance for us get out from the dire situation and to get the funds for prosthesis and the medication for The Light of My Days-My Mum.I made a promise to her that I would make sure that her elderly life will be respectable and peaceful,the same as my whole life has been.
