    Story

Few years ago i was in sierra Leone where i came across children who were suffering from sicklecell disorder. Among them was a little boy named Juma who was critically ill and needed urgent medical attention,so i asked a Dr who's clinic was in the hotel that i was staying at the time if he can treat the boy for me.He said yes but wanted to know why i wanted to pay for medical treatment for someone i don't even know.I told him that i know exactly what this boy was going through as i suffer from the same condition as well .Sicklecell disorder is a severe hereditary form of aneamia in which a mutated form of heamoglobin distorts the red bloodcells into a crescent shape at very low oxygen levels.Symptoms of sicklecell are very severe pain in the bones joints etc chest infection jaundice stroke priapism ulcer organ damage infflamation and swellings in knees limbs fatigue and other complications. This condition affects millions of people globally and there is ongoing research for cure. My initial aim was to raise awareness of the condition and support these children with regular everyday medication like folic acid penicillin and pain killers and to have a monthly medical follow up with the Dr. This project was self funded but fast forward 5 years on and with the Ebola epidemic period and the sudden death of Dr Whalid may his soul rest in peace there was an urgent need for me to visit Sierra Leone to put few things in place so the work can continue.please donate to support this worthy cause as by doing so you are saving children's lives. I am going back to sierra leone for world sicklecell day which is June 19 so i have an urgent need for donation for supplies of medication and for treatment. The boy in the photo is swadu my new kid and he has sicklecell and ulcer,he needs ongoing medication and treatment for the ulcer.please donate to help him. I am forever grateful for all your support and generous donations. Thanks a million and GOD RICHLY BLESS YOU ALL
