Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Kalibu's mission is to help to develop young people to become productive and healthy citizens of Uganda: improving their access to health services, increasing their awareness of HIV/AIDs, providing fun sports activities for them to participate in, and increasing their engagement on environmental conservation and protection. Football, for both girls and boys, is one of the ways we try to achieve our goals; this universal sport brings people together and makes it easier to impart educational messages.
We are have established this crowdfunding platform with the aim of raising £1,000 to support Kalibu's activities. The plan is to create income generating projects to sustain Kalibu, as well as giving small stipends to motivate the five staff members, who are currently all volunteers. In particular the money will buy a water filter to give the children clean drinking water (£20), chairs for the children to sit on during sensitisation activities (£4 each - they can also be hired out to generate income) and second hand footwear for playing football (£6 each - currently nine out of ten members play with bare feet, which can be dangerous with nails and broken glass on the field).
Whoever contributes to this crowdfunding will be greatly appreciated and provided with updates on developments of Kalibu.
Unfortunately we can't receive GiftAid, as Kalibu is currently only registered as a charity in Uganda and not in the UK. But you can also donate via Kalibu's Ugandan bank account: ACC. NAME: KALIBU ORGANISATION , ACC No: 1035201053776 , BANK NAME: EQUITY BANK UGANDA LIMITED, SWIFT/BIC CODE: EQBLUGKA . Or via Kalibu's friends in the UK: Miss K S Savage, Sort code: 40-34-01, Account number: 71388525.
Thank you in advance for your support!
