Story

Once there was a beautiful, ginger tomcat who would come to be called Gordon. Somehow he ended up at a tip in Manchester. For years he eked out a miserable existence amongst our discarded waste struggling to survive. Fed once a day by the workers there, no one thought to try and save him from his misery and give him a better life. Eventually, a kind lady tried to find help for him. She asked a number of rescues, but with so many overstretched by a constant stream of neglected and stray cats, no one had space to take him in. Sadly tomcats are usually the bottom of the list to be rescued. Often dirty, un-neutered and smelly, they are left behind while the mama cats and cute kittens are saved. Finally, the lady asked PawPurrs for help, and Katie who runs it went to get Gordon straightaway. Tired and ill with blood coming out of his nose and mouth, he was a pitiful sight. Unfortunately for Gordon, it was too late to save him. He was to have no happy ending…

We know there are lots of other Gordons out there and his plight has inspired us to try and help even more. PawPurrs would like to build a new cattery with 3 pens, to allow more un-neutered and feral toms to be saved. With the groundwork and build it’s going to cost £2700, and we’re asking if you can please help by donating whatever you can afford. No donation is too small. The sooner we can raise the money, the quicker we can save more of these poor boys.

Thank you.
