    Story

Connor is 15 years old and on the 27th of December 2016 he was taken to hospital with headaches, blurred vision and fixed pupils. They found the mass and sent him to Salford Royal. There they diagnosed a brain tumour and hydracephalous. On 28th he had a third ventriculostomy for the hydrocephalus and they believed the tumour was a benign childhood tumour so did a lumbar puncture to diagnose. This came up as possibly said childhood benign tumour but the specialist demanded a biopsy anyway. They performed biopsy on the 06/01/17. This then came back that it wasn't the benign tumour but a pineoblastoma (extremley rare malignant grade 4 tumour accounts for less than 1% of brain tumours). They then organised the tumour resection for 26/1/17 and the tumour measured 1.2cm. They removed 1.1cm but the other 1mm was attached to a major vein so too dangerous to remove. Upon mri following the resection they found the tumour to be 1.5cm so in the 2 weeks waiting for resection it had grown 1.3cm. The neurosurgeon then informed me that his condition was terminal and he could survive years but the tumour would be fatal. Then on 6/2/17 We went to oncologist who said the tumour had not spread elsewhere in the brain or spine and they would be aiming to cure it but that the treatment was intense and he would be very unwell. He's now on his 4th out of 6 weeks of spineocranial radiotherapy and then on 22nd May will be an inpatient at Christies for 4 months of chemotherapy. He can't do his GCSE and as he has memory loss he is unlikely to ever do as well as he could of done in future.

Connor has always wanted to go to the Galapogus Islands to see the sea turtles. At present he is remaining up beat despite being exhausted from the treatment. If we can raise this money then it will give him something to look forward to with his two brothers and his parents. There is no other way they can afford to do this without our help. Please help by sharing this page. Thank you

Time for another update folks. Not only are we now at £990, which is wonderful, but Connor has now completed his Radiotherapy and is getting himself strong again to plough his way through Chemotherapy. I've never known such a determined young man.
