Story
My mum, Maddalena York is currently in a rehab hospital after having a huge brain tumour removed, which has left her severely disabled, without use of the right side of her body and the part of the brain removed was the language and communication centre leaving her unable to speak or communicate. This is a horrible thing to happen to anyone, but it's broken my heart with my mum as she's such an independent woman, she has brought four children up and I'd like to think we're not brats;)
My mum after having not so good of a life herself with a bad marriage, she fought it all and became a brown belt in kickboxing(one of black) and still carried on working right up until we found out what was wrong, no matter what anyone told her about resting, how ill she felt or how hard it was for her to walk. That's why I'd love to sort this out for her, after everything she's done and still trying to improve, always willing to try new things like taking more steps with her walking and trying to learn how to talk again. I'm so proud of her!!
We live in a small house with 5 of us there including my mum and we also only have an upstairs bathroom which is unfortunate, making it extremely difficult for my mum to get in and out of the bath ( after trying this with occupationiol therapists we know how hard it is).
I'm only nineteen and have three younger brothers and we are now told we have to help our mum struggle, while she's in pain, daily in and out of the bath and not being in a good financial state we cannot afford a wet room on our own. So I was hoping a few, generous and kind people would be able to help us out. I'm never had to write anything like this so I'm not sure how well this will go but, hopefully for her me and my brothers could sort this out for her. 🙏🏽
