We are raising money for a cancer treatment and medical costs for our friend Iwona Staskiewicz. She has been suffering from brain tumour for 5 years now. After the diagnosis in 2012 , doctors were giving her 3 months to 2 years of life. Iwona had already had two brain operations, after which she suffered partial memory loss. Her daughters, back then aged 11 and 13 helped her learn to read, write, and recover most words and names of her friends and family she completely forgot. They helped her get back to normal life again. Sadly, the tumour has relapsed. Due to high risk of loosing speech, Iwona has refused radiotherapy treatment as this would not allow her to work and financially support her children. Her flat was burned down completely in a fire caused by her ex-husband. The insurance company refused to pay the money out and since that time she has experienced financial problems. Despite all personal and financial difficulties she has experienced during the last 5 years, her determination and passion for life has not stopped her from searching for a cure.

Iwona has now found a treatment that is successfully reducing her tumour. She is now treating the cancer with positive results, but has not enough money to cover further costs. Iwona, has been a fundraiser herself helping to raise money for operations and health costs for children as well as adults in her community. She now needs our help!
