Crowdfunding is the new way to raise money for a personal cause on JustGiving.
In June of next year, I am going to the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve in Mexico to carry out important conservation research with Operation Wallacea. The tropical forest is the largest North of the Amazon, and is a key wildlife corridor providing crucial habitats to many species.
In the 6 weeks that I will spend there, I will study weather patterns and the impacts that these changing patterns have on the general and mating behaviours of spider monkeys. The data collected will be integrated with data gathered by permanent researchers in order to understand the negative influences that global warming has on primates in Mexico, with particular emphasis on food availability.
In order to kick start the fundraising, I am going to be alcohol free for 30 days starting at the beginning of November.
Any donations, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated and will help to carry out this important conservation work in one of the world's most important biosphere reserves.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you in advance for any donations made!
