Story
I am going to walk from Land's End to John O' Groats, 1,200 miles, to help the disadvantaged youngsters of North East Lincolnshire take part in The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. Having survived cancer 3 years ago I want to celebrate my health and encourage young people to get out there and enjoy the beautiful British countryside. The Duke of Edinburgh scheme helps young people develop confidence, learn new skills and do voluntary work. It also helps with funding for equipment for their expeditions in the hills. I want them to see how wonderful walking in the hills, climbing mountains and camping can be. The Duke of Edinburgh local fund also buys minibuses to take them to these places.
