Story
I visited The Cherish Exchange foundation school in Kenya last week. Cherish helps children, many who are orphans' to get a basic education as an alternative to working the streets. The children aged between 4 and 14 were working hard in the classrooms on crowded desks with very few resources. They were sharing pencils and paper. They weren't giving up and realised the importance of getting a basic education. A lunch was provided for them which was a small bowl of mince and mash potatoes. If the charity run low on donations then lunch cannot always be provided and the children go without. The premises is rented and rents are high so in the longer term future Cherish are hoping to buy their own premises. The current premises is substandard and floods regularly causing major sanitation issues. The £500 I hope to fund raise and give to Cherish will help to give these children a hot meal and school/day care facilities thus protecting them from street life, giving them hope love and protection.
