Story
My son Luke has Dyslexia and has always struggled to get enthusiastic about reading! The books available at his reading level were always too young for him, he found the stories really boring and he just couldn’t get enthusiastic about any of them.
One day, while out shopping, we discovered dyslexia friendly books by a publisher called Barrington Stoke. These were a game changer for us! They had books about football, adventure and space, all the stuff he liked and they were printed on buff paper, another game changer! It meant he didn’t have to use his plastic overlay while reading. He now reads every night before bed and I couldn’t be prouder!
Luke took his books into school and cutting a long story short, he did a presentation to some local investors about his dyslexia, the impact of these books and secured some investment for the school to purchase the books for all age groups! Amazing!!
Luke wants to raise money so that he can purchase these books for other local primary schools and help other kids discover a love for reading too!
He plans on doing a mini Triathlon on Saturday 12 July, that’s a 400m swim, 10km bike ride and 2.5km run! Phew!
Please sponsor us because lots of books for local schools ain’t cheap!
