Percy was kicked in the ribs by another horse around 7 weeks ago, the vet came out and treated him for bruised ribs, and the vets instructions were followed.

However on Friday the 21st he had to have emergency surgery for collic. This was caused as the kick fractured his 14th and 15th rib and a hole in his diaphragm. His bowels fell through the hole and died causing the collic. Vets said Percy should have died but after 1 meter of bowel being removed he has recovered from that surgery.

Percy needs another operation to fix the hole in his diaphragm and to fix the ribs. If he does not get this, his bowels may come out through the hole again, which will mean Percy will have to be put down. He won't be able to be ridden nor go in a large field as the more he moves the more likely the bowels will come through.

I have used up all my £5,000 insurance and gone way beyond that on the first operation so have no money to pay for the 2nd operation that is needed.
I desperately want to make sure Percy is okay and gets all the treatment he deserves from this accident.
Even the smallest amount of money is appreciated and I am picking up as much work as I possibly can to make this happen.
