Mia Moo was first diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia when she was 1 and 1/2 yrs old. After 2 and 1/2 years of treatment including chemotherapy she was given the all-clear in December 2015.

Mia enjoyed a period of being well but unfortunately after 7 months Mia began to have severe headaches. Mia's consultant conducted blood tests and a CT scan and although theses were clear, he then carried out a lumbar puncture which heartbreakingly revealed that Mia had cancer in her spinal fluid.

Mia is now fighting cancer for the second time, she started chemotherapy agin in July 2016 and has now undergone a bone marrow transplant.

Mia is still fighting and her life is currently spent most of the time in and out of Sheffield hospital for treatment and will remain on medication for the rest of her life.

After Mia's first diagnosis, she was fortunate enough to be able to go on a family holiday in-between treatments. Recognising the immense joy this gave Mia, her family have now set up a charity to help other children in Mia's situation, to be able to experience the same special family time away from the reality of cancer.

Mia Moo's Foundation wants to raise at least £40,000 to purchase a holiday home that will be used by families in similar circumstances.

To help with this amazing cause i have set myself two challenges for the month of January to help raise towards this. My first is dryathlon and along side this i will run a total of 100km within the month.
