Story
Bryan Munford was a much valued friend and colleague for many of us at NORR Architects. Bryan sadly died aged just 41 in March 2010, leaving behind a treasure trove of memories, mostly involving good times, love and laughter for all those who had the pleasure to know him. He also left behind a young family; his wife, Sandra, and two beautiful daughters, Kate and Beth, now aged 21 and 19 respectively.
As if that wasn't enough for one young family to cope with, on 1st April 2016 Kate was diagnosed with a brain tumour. She has since had 4 operations. The first one was to drain excess fluid from her head. The second and third were major surgeries to remove as much of the tumour as possible, and both of these lasted 7 hours. The 4th and final one was to place a shunt into her head to assist with the on-going management of her condition.
Many months of treatment later, and on the advice of her doctors, rather than going through aggressive chemotherapy, Kate is now using an orally taken specialist oil which has been shown to greatly assist patients with this condition. It certainly seems to work for Kate. Her doctors agree and she is now doing really well.
There's a snag though.
Despite the benefits afforded by the oil, it is not available on the NHS. It costs £450 per bottle, each of which lasts for just two months. That is a lot of money for anyone, but particularly for Sandra, Kate and Beth, each of whom have part time jobs with limited income. So, we'd really like to help, and we're also reaching out to friends and colleagues, and anyone else who knew our old pal Bryan to see if you can help too. Our target is £2,700, or one year's supply of the oil.
All three ladies would be immensely grateful to receive even just a small contribution to these medical costs from anyone who can afford to give it. Bryan's many friends, including me, would be very grateful too. Thank you so much.
Kind Regards,
Kevin
