    Story

Livingstone Street Community Centre - in the heart of Birkenhead and neglected for many years is now flourishing in the care of its community. We have cleaned and painted from top to bottom, raised the money to rip out the old kitchen and put in a new one, and planted a garden and grown our own food. We are used for so many different activities but the training room at the front of the building remains in need of love and attention. We have tried to bring accredited courses here but have failed because of things such as the doors (access issues) and flooring (concerns over hygiene). The irony is that this room could eventually raise money for the centre through room bookings, if we could only bring it up to scratch.
We are looking to replace the flooring, the doors, lower the ceiling to improve the lighting and to plaster the flaking walls so that we can run courses
