Story
The Neonatal Unit at Arrowe Park gave the best possible start in life to our twin boys when they needed help to get going with breathing on their own. The support from the whole team was amazing, and we'll be forever thankful for their skill, care and dedication.
I am competing in the Wirral Triathlon on 26 August to raise funds for, and awareness of, the fantastic support the Neonatal Unit is giving to families in the same situation, every hour of every day.
The Neonatal Unit at Arrowe Park a designated Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit – one of only 2 in Cheshire and Merseyside. This means they are able to care for some of the most poorly babies. Sometimes, babies are brought here from much further away depending on needs and availability.
The Neonatal Unit website explains more:
"With our services becoming increasingly busy and now covering a much wider area, there is a real need for public donation and support for neonatal care.
We rely on the generosity of people to raise money to help buy pieces of equipment and support training and research that will improve the quality of care we provide to tiny and delicate babies. Donations also help us to provide comfortable surroundings for the parents, some of whom spend many months visiting their baby in very difficult circumstances whilst they are cared for on the unit.
Every penny donated directly contributes towards our life-saving work with special care babies."
Thank you for all your support.
