Most of us have no idea what is feels like to be really hungry and couldn't imagine sending our kids to school each day without at least a snack. For many families on the coast in Spain this is a daily occurence and Covid has made the situation worse.
We have identified over 100 children who need urgent support.
Under the guideance of The St George's Charity based in Sabinillas the Christmas appeal has been launched.
We want to raise enough funds to sponsor each of the 100 children to receive a packed lunch every day for one year.
The cost per child per month is 20 euros, or 240 euros for the whole year.
The food changes each week depending on deals that the charity can get but the below is an example of the brunch pack that a child would receive each day.
-Bread roll
-Ham
-Piece of Cheese
-Apple
-Fruit juice
-Packet of biscuits
-Carton of milk
Soooooo.......
Between December 1st - December 24th, to celebrate the 12 days of Christmas a group of us have committed to do 100 burpees per day. That is 12 days of 100 burpees - 1,200 burpees.
I HATE BURPEES
And we have committed to doing them in festive attire so you can be sure I will look as ridiculous as possible.
