Story

Hi, I'm Nathan and I am going to Peru on a joint expedition between my school and Camps International to help improve the lives of the local people there. Peru is a vibrant and beautiful country yet in rural areas many people have little to no access to good education, sanitation and adequate drinking water. This causes a variety of problems from malnutrition in young kids to a lack of decent job prospects for the people. We are going in July 2018 to help with projects to build and restore schools which will give the children a better chance at gaining an education, We will also build school kitchens and greenhouses so that local people can grow crops easier and work on sanitation projects like building wells and toilets to help people gain access to clean water. The £1000 that I am trying to raise, as part of the cost of my trip, will go directly towards paying for building materials and supplies and also to pay for local craftsmen who will work with us on the projects.
As I will also be trekking out in Peru I decided that to help raise money I would take part in a walking challenge so along with my mum I will be walking 45km (28 miles) along the Leeds & Liverpool canal starting in Skipton on Saturday 14th October 2017. This should take us approximately 10 hours of walking.
All sponsorship/contributions will be greatly appreciated (if not for the challenge or trip then for the hardship of having to listen to my mum witter on for 10 straight hours !!!!!)
Thank you very much
Nathan
