Story

2018 marks 10 years since I was admitted to hospital for the treatment of my anorexia nervosa. In June 2008, I was admitted to the Rivendell Young Person's Unit at the Priory Hospital, Altrincham where I remained an inpatient until early 2009. I am raising money for the unit that treated me, to make what can be a very long stay in hospital more comfortable and enjoyable for the young people staying there.

To mark this anniversary, I wanted to take on a challenge I would never have been able to do when I was unwell. When I was first admitted to hospital, I was too frail to walk, and couldn't even climb stairs - never mind mountains! So - I (along with my husband/sherpa guide Andrew) am climbing 10 peaks (one for each year since my admission) and I am seeking sponsorship in order to raise funds for the unit, and awareness of the potential for different forms of recovery from eating disorders. I will post updates as and when each peak is conquered! You can also follow my progress on Instagram with the hashtag #katsclimb
