Story
Seaham Seaside Swimmer's (SSS) action group are working towards having a ramp installed onto the slope to make the Marina beach accessible to all.
The Marina management are working with us to have this done. However as you can imagine there is numerous steps to complete and its a costly process.
Before we can start raising money for the ramp to be installed we first need to raise funds to have a feasibility study completed.
Without the Marina I can with out a doubt say I either would be in a severe health state or no longer would be alive.
In July 2020 I personally was virtually immobile and needed support to stand from a seating position. l could not put my own shoes on.
Finding sea swimming and the numerous benefits of the coast I am now actually living.
I dont know how I managed to get onto the slope the unhealthy state I was in. However it made me see that l am not the only one and I was lucky to be able to access the beach.
There are many whom can't families and individuals for numerous reasons.
SSS would like to make postive changes and promote wellbeing to the general public.
However unfortunately there ia a huge financial cost to this and before we can move forward its mandatory and paramount for a feasabilty study to be carried out costing over £4000 pounds the Marina will help towards the coat but cannot pay for the whole cost due to the current affects lockdown has had on businesses.
Please help if you are able to donate. We thank you for your support and wish you a safe and healthy life.
