Story
Hello everyone, my name is Hurry, and I am a Ugandan refugee seeking asylum in Gorom refugee camp. Having fled my homeland due to severe persecution related to my sexual orientation, I hoped for safety and acceptance here. However, the reality has been devastating. The situation for members of the LGBTIQ community in this camp is critical, as we face rampant segregation, discrimination, transphobia, and homophobia. Our safety is compromised daily, and many of us endure verbal and physical attacks from the local host community and fellow refugees, leaving us in a continuous state of fear.
The scarcity of essential resources compounds our struggles. Many members of our community are literally starving, lacking basic food and necessities. With limited access to healthcare and sanitation facilities, our daily existence has become a fight for survival. The urgent need for food, hygiene products, and medical care cannot be overstated. We are trapped in a dire situation, with little hope for improvement unless we find support from compassionate individuals around the world.
We urgently seek your assistance to help us overcome these challenges. Your donations will directly support food distribution, enabling us to provide food for those in desperate need. Additionally, contributions will help secure essential products as well as medication to address health issues that arise due to the harsh living conditions we endure.
By standing with us, you can help buying food and essentials, for members of the LGBTIQ community in the camp. Your generosity will help foster a sense of hope and belonging, allowing us to continue our fight for rights and acceptance. We cannot do this without you, and every single donation, no matter the size, has the potential to change lives.
Thank you for taking the time to read our plea. We ask for your kindness and support in these trying times, as it is the love and compassion of people like you that will help us rebuild our lives. Together, we can bring light to our darkest moments and strive for a better life.
THANKS FOR YOUR HEARTFELT
