Story

For the 3rd year running we are providing a free Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day, for people on their own in the local area of Swansea and Neath Port Talbot. For this event we feel it's important to use different local communities in Swansea each year to reach out to the needy. This year our event is being held at Teilo's Community Cwtch (Faith in Families Centre) Portmead, Swansea, south Wales.

As previously, the event will be run solely by volunteers, with the main organisers being myself, Kathryn Charles who has worked with vulnerable adults for over 10 years, Marc Thomas who is a well known local chef, and experienced volunteer Nick Griffiths.

The event itself will provide a 4 course Christmas dinner and an afternoon of entertainment to some of the most vulnerable people in society. Last year we served around 200 dinners to volunteers and guests. This also included home deliveries to those who were housebound. Every person involved also had a Christmas gift to take home. Our 60+ volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure everyone had a wonderful Christmas day, even providing transport for people to and from the event.

The event will be fully funded by donations from local businesses and the general public, any left over food or money will be given to local charity.
