Story

My name is Molly Charles and I am an air scout in the county of West Mercia. Recently I was selected to be given the opportunity to represent the U.K. at the World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia, USA next year. To venture on this amazing opportunity, however, I have to raise £3,500. Not only will some of this money go towards helping me, but some will also be put towards helping less fortunate children from third world countries to come too. The World Scout Jamboree is a worldwide scouting event where over 60,000 scouts from over 160 countries will be attending. Held every four years, it is an unparalleled experience which offers once in a lifetime cultural and leadership opportunities.

I wanted to apply for the Jamboree to support the small minority of females within the scouting movement and to become an ambassador to inspire young females to get involved in adventures and the outdoors. As well as this, the once in a lifetime experience will exercise my passion for languages as I study German, Russian and Latin, but also my avidity for exploration and learning.

For my main fundraising event, I will be climbing Snowdon with my unit. I would like to fundraise a large proportion of my total using this event and I thank you all very much for your support, kindness and encouragement.

Scouting rises within you and inspires you to put forth your best.
