Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  On 10th March, I will be joining 15,000 other like-minded people in running the Big Half Marathon, starting at Tower Bridge and finishing at the Cutty Sark, Greenwich.

Whilst the training has been tough (but I will persevere), this is a fantastic opportunity to help raise money for my children’s swimming club (https://www.southwarkaquatics.co.uk/).

Southwark Aquatics is a small family-oriented swimming club whose aim is to provide opportunities to children, living in the London Borough of Southwark, the chance to fulfil their potential. Historically the club has kept the fees as low as possible to remain accessible to all children that wished to join. However, funding has fallen short and as a result the sustainability of the club is at risk.

Southwark Aquatics is a not for profit swimming club, managed mainly by parents who have donated their personal time and had worked tirelessly over the years to keep the club going. My husband has been a member of the club committee for several years, this is my way of supporting a club that has done tremendous work in developing my children’s swimming abilities and social skills over the years.

The money raised will help pay for training and pool fees that will benefit all the club’s swimmers. Please dig deep and donate as much as you can - every pound raised will count towards the continuation of a club that will encourage our younger generation to get active, learn a life-skill and nurture our future Olympians!

Many thanks in advance for your kind donation.

Best wishes,

Kathy.
