Next year I am spending 2 weeks in the Little John`s House in Sibiu located in Romania volunteering in the summer school. Little John's House is not just a home for 6 children, but reaches out to touch the lives of many other children with special needs and disadvantaged children living in other care homes, hospitals and family homes in the local area.

By my group and I going to volunteer at the summer school it allows Little John's House to open its doors in the summer to children with special needs from in and around Sibiu during the annual Summer School. They are given the chance to take part in lots of fun and exciting activities and enriching experiences involving social interaction, experimental play, observational learning, music and art therapy. For many of these children this is the only “holiday” they have in the whole year and often the only time their parents/carers get a break. The children are bussed in from local hospitals, orphanages and individual families, with many of the same children returning year on year.

But in order to be able to help out at the Little Johns House, I need to fundraise £1800 in order to get there. Fundraising this money allows me to help out at the house enabling the children in need to return to the summer school and having that excitement and happiness which they have missed out on.

So to fundraise I will be hosting many different events throughout the year such as Cheilidhs, Bake sales and even sports days but another one is my Just Giving Page. It would be a pleasure if you could donate to my trip, there isn't a set price but every bit of money raised, is every bit closer to being able to change a child`s life and being able to volunteer at the summer school at the Little Johns House.
