Story
Ahmed Qudieh is a 23 year old man from Gaza, responsible for taking care of his family as they shelter in Rafah awaiting the threatened ground invasion. We are all by now aware of the hardship facing Gaza's displaced civilians, and through fundraisers like this, as you have most likely already seen, they are reaching out and trying to overcome what is otherwise an impossible situation.
Surviving day to day has become very expensive and Ahmed's first priority is to ensure that his family are provided for with everyday provisions such as food, water and warm clothes. Eventually his plan will be to evacuate from Gaza into Egypt to establish himself and try to gain back his future, hopefully making use of his law degree.
This fundraiser is being started as Muslims enter the sacred time of Ramadan. Apart from being a time of deep inner reflection, it is also an opportunity to put the needs of others above your own. Ahmed appeals to everyone, Muslim or otherwise, to remember the benefits of sharing. We are interconnected so that when we share we also receive a benefit : )
