Story
Hi, I’m Katie — a 26-year-old from the UK, trying to rebuild my life with a dream that’s bigger than just me.
I’ve spent the last few years working in the film and events industries — jobs I genuinely loved, even with the chaos. But when the actors and writers strikes hit, everything changed. Work dried up overnight. No jobs, no income, no security. Like many others behind the scenes, I had to borrow money just to afford basic living costs.
Now, I’m carrying around £13,000 in debt — despite doing everything I could to stay afloat — and it’s left me feeling stuck and heavy. But I’m ready to change that. Not just for myself, but for my community too.
My dream is to create “Soul Coffee Van” — a mobile café that brings people together in a new way.
Think:
• Fresh coffee and juices
• Vinyl records playing
• Vintage pieces and cozy vibes
• Healthy snacks
• A space for pop-up events like run clubs and sober socials
A place for people — especially young adults — who want to connect without needing alcohol. Somewhere you can just be, meet new friends, and feel good.
This won’t happen unless I can raise enough to pay off my debts and start this business. I’m not asking for a handout — I’m asking for help building something that can give back to others, too.
If you’ve ever felt like life hit pause… or if you believe in second chances and soulful spaces… I’d be so grateful if you could support, share, or even just cheer me on.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Truly. Katie x
