I've raised £500 to support the Worldwide Veterinary Service

In September 2017, I will be spending 4 days canoeing down the Zambezi river in Zambia to raise funds for the Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS).
WVS is a charity that works all over the world: from disaster emergency response, international veterinary training to community education programmes, they send teams, equipment and medicine to help animals who have no one else.
For many communities who rely on animals for their livelihood access to veterinary care really is life changing; the services and education provided by WVS have an incredibly positive impact upon animal welfare, and in turn the lives of people dependent upon these animals worldwide.
You can read more about WVS here: https://wvs.org.uk/what-we-do
I was lucky enough to travel to WVS's International Training Centre in India last year and see first hand some of the amazing work that they do. We took part in a neutering programme for stray dogs, and a rabies vaccination drive (part of WVS's 'Mission Rabies' project) as well as benefiting from their fantastic education facilities. It is a very popular charity within the community; its employees are well respected, and it is having a hugely positive impact with a impressive decline in human rabies cases in the area.
And if that doesn't inspire you, then there's a reasonable chance I will capsize and be eaten by a crocodile - which has got to be worth a few pennies!
I have paid the cost of this trip to WVS already, which included a minimum charitable donation of £1000. I am funding the rest of the trip expenses myself, so anything I raise here over £1000 will be passed on directly to WVS to help support the fantastic work that they do.
